Pro Life – Pro Family
One of government’s primary functions is to protect rights. Liberty, property and happiness are impossible without life. While we all know of those who have come from broken and dysfunctional families and become successful, they certqainly started at a disadvantage. Government policy should always encourage life and family.
Pro Second Amendment
Our founders recognized that the ability to be personally responsible for the security of life, property and state was vitral to the survival of the republic. Guns and hunting have been a part of my life since I was quite young. I am an Endowment Member of the NRA, Life Member of the Second Amendment Foundation, member of KSRA and Gun Owners of America.
Smaller, less intrusive government
Government does not and cannot deliver liberty or rights. Larger government and more regulations infringe on liberty and rights. You can count on me to take every opportunity to keep government out of our lives to the greatest extent possible.
The states formed the federal government to offer protection to the states as a whole and to protect rights. The states have allowed the federal leviathan to take over powers it was never intended to have. It is time the state reclaim that power, I am a supporter of the Convention of States Project.
Lower Taxes, Less Spending
Government takes too much from Kansans and it has an insatiable appetite. Spending must be brought under control so that taxes can be lowered. We must return control of our lives and our businesses to the people and local communities. Kansans are resilient and responsible people, they don’t need a “ruler”.
Our children deserve a quality education that has its roots at the local level. Adding layers all the way to Washington DC only adds expense and takes away local control. I will work to keep DC and the Kansas Supreme Court out of our education decisions.
Kansas and the rest of the nation face unprecidented times, brought about by government actions. We can debate whether those actions were proper or necessary...but none of that changes what we face. In the last 100 years Kansans have endured: The Spanish Flu, WWI, the Great Depression, the Dirty 30s, WWII, the Korean War, the Asian Flu, the Hong Kong Flu, the Vietnam War, the Cold War and more. We survived them all by being responsible adults and taking charge of our lives and doing what was necessary. Kansans need to be allowed to make the choices that are best for them without being hamstrung by government or bureaucrats.
